PUBLIC AND CROWN LAND "SOLD"?

THE LOCAL COMMUNITY ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE CLOSE RELATIONSHIP THAT THE CITY OF SWAN / WA PLANNING COMMISSION SEEM TO HAVE WITH DEVELOPERS.

UNDER AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN BONDCORP AND WA PLANNING COMMISSION/CITY OF SWAN, TWO LARGE RESERVES OF LAND ADJOINING BELLS RAPIDS AND WALYUNGA NATIONAL PARK WERE SUPPOSED TO BE TRANSFERRED "FREE OF COST" TO THE STATE MANY YEARS AGO. WHY HAVE THE WA PLANNING COMMISSION ALLOWED THIS LAND TO BE ON-SOLD TO VARIOUS DEVELOPERS (THE CURRENT BEING PEET LTD, WHOM ARE PUBLICLY STATING THAT THEY ARE CEEDING THIS LAND BACK TO THE GOVERNMENT)? A LARGE RESERVE OF LAND TO THE NORTH-EAST OF BELLS RAPIDS WHICH WA PLANNING COMMISSION USED TAX PAYERS MONEY TO COMPENSATE BONDCORP RECIEVERS FOR (IS CURRENTLY OWNED BY PEET LTD)?

PART OF A LARGE RESERVE OF LAND NEAR BELLS RAPIDS WITH COMMUNITY TENNIS COURT AND PICNIC AREA WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TRANSFERRED TO CROWN LAND HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO BE SOLD BY DEVELOPERS AS A PRIVATE HOUSING/BUILDABLE LOT?

IN A "PRESS RELEASE" ABOUT THE BELLS RAPIDS DEVELOPMENT FROM THE CITY OF SWAN, THE C.E.O. STATED "THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND CONSERVATION RECOMMENDED THE MINIMISATION OF VEGETATION CLEARING THROUGH THE SITING OF BUILDING ENVELOPES IN EXISTING DISTURBED AREAS, WHICH THE APPLICANT HAD ADDRESSED ADEQUATELY IN THE REVISED OUTLINE DEVELOPMENT PLAN". ONLY 8 LOTS OF THE 214 TOTAL "ARE SIGNIFICANTLY CLEARED" . HOW HAS THIS BEEN ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED?

THE CITY OF SWAN STATED AT A PUBLIC MEETING "THIS PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AREA ABOVE BELLS RAPIDS WAS LARGELY CLEARED". THE DEVELOPERS CONSULTANT QUOTES "THE SITE RETAINS ABOUT 80% OF NATIVE VEGETATION". THE CONSULTANT ALSO CALCULATED BEAUTIFUL GRANITE OUTCROPS AS DEGRADED. WE BELIEVE THE SITE CONTAINS APPROX 90% NATIVE VEGETATION WHICH IS EXTREMELY HIGH FOR WA. (WHY WOULD HE MAKE THIS STATEMENT?)

THE COMMUNITY ARE ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE CITY OF SWAN AND WA PLANNING COMMISSION HAVE BEEN APPROVING DEVELOPERS SUBDIVISIONS AGAINST THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF FESA NOT TO. WE BELIEVE THE COMMUNITIES LIVES AND SAFETY ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN DEVELOPERS PROFITS.
